CASE STUDY:
Lower Pitton Farmhouse
Set in the heart of Gower, this traditional barn conversion transformed a dilapidated single-storey farmhouse into a refined, luxury minimalist living space. As an experienced home renovation specialist working across Gower and the wider Swansea area, we approached the project with a focus on preserving the building’s heritage while delivering a contemporary standard of finish. The aim was not simply to renovate, but to elevate the property in a way that respected its century-old agricultural roots.
The client sought a complete reimagining of the existing living space, creating an open and architecturally striking environment that remained sympathetic to the original farmhouse. The design needed to celebrate the pitched and curved roofline, while introducing technical structural enhancements that would improve both form and function. A handcrafted, weight-bearing oak frame was developed as the centrepiece of the scheme, blending structural integrity with visual impact. Every detail was considered to ensure the finished space reflected the quality expected from a trusted building specialist in Gower.
Converting a traditional farmhouse structure presented a number of technical challenges. The century-old building required careful structural assessment, particularly around the curved and pitched roof, to ensure modern performance standards were achieved without compromising character. Installing six Velux roof windows demanded precise integration into the roofline to maximise natural light while maintaining weather protection and thermal efficiency. The use of reclaimed Welsh slate also required detailed craftsmanship to ensure the exterior remained authentic to its rural surroundings.
The finished barn conversion delivers a light-filled, vaulted living space that feels expansive yet grounded in tradition. The open ceiling enhances the sense of scale, while the exposed oak frame and oak mantle introduce warmth and texture throughout the interior. Reclaimed Welsh slate restores the exterior with integrity, ensuring the property sits naturally within the Gower landscape.
This project reflects the level of workmanship and attention to detail expected from a dedicated home renovation specialist, demonstrating how thoughtful design and skilled construction can transform a traditional Gower farmhouse into a modern, minimalist home without losing its identity.

The room they created for me is perfect and I can’t fault them.
The oak beams look amazing and the carpentry is faultless creating a beautiful space
